While you and I may not think twice about being sold a package containing multiple items, kitting is a rather big business. It involves just what you’d think – manufacturers take various parts and put them together in a single unit (often with its own box or bag) to be sold as one piece. The point is to make life easier…if you need a screwdriver, you look in your pink tool kit, of course. And if you are trapped in your vehicle and need to break the window to escape a life-threatening situation, you pull out the glass hammer from your pink car kit, slice through your seatbelt, smash the window, and crawl to safety. The same kit also has tools for less urgent situations, including an air freshener, jumpstart cables (in red and black), and an ice scraper. But it doesn’t stop there! The Pink Toolbox Company also has a gardening kit, a travel kit, and a gym kit – everything you need for a wide variety of applications, all in ballerina pink.

I love this cherry blossom suitcase from Flight 001. I’ve actually been to their store but I didn’t see this beauty there; it’s a good thing or I might have bought it! At $325 it’s slightly more expensive than a similar Hello Kitty suitcase I have seen in the Sanrio store, but it’s really beautiful. The problem with hard-sided suitcases, though, is that lately they are likely to push you over the weight limit and you’ll have to pay more when flying; this one is 15 pounds. But hey, you’ll always know it on the baggage claim carousel!

This nifty little gadget is cool: the Solio portable battery for any device. The bonus is that in addition to loading its battery off the wall charger, it can also gather power as a solar device. Charging from the regular wall outlet takes four hours, and solar charging takes eight to ten hours, so it isn’t really practical for carrying around all the time (you’ll have to leave it unattended at some point), but once it’s charged fully you will have plenty of power – the website says it will fully charge a cell phone twice on one fully-charged Solio battery.

This little item is from a store called Wrapables, and it’s one of those coffee tumbler mug things. You know, the kind you are supposed to use at the coffee stand so you don’t waste a disposable cup. What’s awesome is that this one is pink where most of those things are plain silver. I know, because I have a Chococat coffee tumbler, and it has a plain silver background. (I will never forget the hot pink Hello Kitty coffee tumbler I saw in St. Thomas…why didn’t I get that thing?!) This is a pale “ballerina” pink, so it’s not over the top, but there is definite tinting to make your cup stand out from the crowd. One downside is that it doesn’t appear to have a handle, and I really need a handle on mine, but it does have a cute kitty print on the front.
