Juicy Couture Camp Survival Kit
Most of the places where I saw this Juicy Couture product mentioned expressed surprise that it was called a “survival” kit, but didn’t come with a knife, matches, etc. But I ask you: what kind of camp does the typical Juicy Couture customer go to? That’s right, Idol Camp. And what does she need there? That’s right, a cute little pillow, a cute little bag, postcards to send to the kids who couldn’t afford to go, etc. So this is the perfect survival kit for the type of person who would be buying anything with Juicy Couture on it! The three shades of pink plus one shade of brown is a little shocking though, they would have done better with white instead of brown. But hey, who am I to question Juicy’s sense of style? This thing is a whopping $95 at Neiman-Marcus.
Hello Kitty Roundup
I’ve collected some interesting Hello Kitty items recently, so here’s a post to make sure all of them get mentioned. First up is the anti-static keychain from Brando. As near as I can tell, this thing is exclusively for discharging static from metal objects so you don’t get zapped. I actually wouldn’t mind one of these, since every time I touch metal at work, even if I haven’t been on the carpet, even if it’s humid…I get shocked.
Next we have a cell phone charm…but I don’t know what it is beyond that. Apparently you are to stick little plastic swords into the little plastic barrel until Pirate Hello Kitty pops out. Beyond that I have no idea, but it’s available through Strapya World.
This is a great big mess of products, all featuring Hello Kitty. It includes an MP4 player (that’s video, folks), a dock for same, earphones, a cover, carry strap, and…a Kitty head cushion. At $260 from DreamKitty it’s definitely expensive, especially considering that the 1GB of storage doesn’t cover a whole lot of videos. You could maybe fit a few video podcasts onto this thing if they happen to be short, but I don’t think it would take more than one movie.
Pink Pig Grill
It’s a grill. It’s a pig. What? Yup, it’s a barbecue grill shaped like a giant pig. Traeger, a grill company, has come out with the BBQ Pig for $1600. It’s obviously a girl pig – you can tell from the eyelashes and the teats. It’s on casters, so if you’re not using it as a grill, you can unhook it and roll it around to freak out your guests!
Seal Safety Keychain
Well isn’t this adorable! From StrapYa.com, the top website for Japanese cell phone charms, comes a cute little seal keychain/charm that dispenses 195 Volts of anti-attacker energy. It’s like a cute seal with a very dark side. What’s even more fun is that the zap comes out of its tail end, so it’s like it’s – well, you know! If you want to check out StrapYa’s English-language site, you can find them at Strapya World.
Crazy Toys
I picked up these two adorable toys while we were on vacation, at a shop in Seattle called Schmancy that was a few doors down from my hotel. This first one is Gloomy Bear by KidRobot, who is now sitting in my kitchen. According to the box he came in, he has been told multiple times that he’s not supposed to eat people, but, well, he keeps forgetting! So I figured the kitchen was a good place to put him because there’s always plenty of food in there…and I’m not talking about the people who are trying to cook! I also just loved that a character called “Gloomy Bear” who was covered in blood and gore could be bright pink. Hooray for Gloomy Bear!
I got Polpettina for my wife’s desk at work. She is always saying she doesn’t want any more stuffed animals, so I figured a spiky little girl cactus was the perfect opposite to plush animals! I didn’t figure anything out about why the bow on her head is actually a bone, but she was too cute for me to pass up in the store, even if she was awfully expensive – she’s only 2-3 inches high.
