Just wanted to share this picture I took at the mall today. I know it’s a Victoria’s Secret brand, but I thought it was kind of cool to have a store that said “pink is life” on the outside and “love pink” on the inside etc. There’s too much stuff in there that’s not pink if you ask me. There should be stores that sell only pink things. I saw a place in Rehoboth, Delaware that was a pink store, but it had green stuff too. Which looked good, but there should be a PINK ONLY store. Except white. Pink and white. Maybe red. But mostly pink. And white.

The Pink Chaddi (underwear) campaign is designed to draw attention to the abuse of Indian women who are physically beaten when they go to pubs. Their website has contact information and tells how to send your pink chaddi to Sri Ram Sena, a militant religious organization that is reportedly anti Valentine’s Day. More about their antics here.

This picture is just the beginning of a fabulous series on a pink wedding designed by Michelle Rago. I don’t think even my partner would let me get away with this, if we ever had a wedding…she would say it has to be nice, not flashy! For this wedding, the invitations were “printed in two colors of custom mixed pink” (!) and the cake used the paper pattern from the invitations so what, custom cut fondant or whatever?! Damn, this must have been a NICE wedding!

February 25, 2009 is Pink Shirt Day in Canada. It originated with two teenage boys who saw a young kid being bullied in school. The boys went to the store and got 50 pink tank tops, distributed them to fellow students, and wore them in solidarity with the kid who was being bullied, who had worn pink on the first day of school. Today the movement has spread and in 2008 over 100,000 people participated. I’ll definitely be wearing pink on February 25th, I hope you will too.

A friend of mine mentioned today, “is it bad when your whole state is pink on the weather map?” Of course pink usually refers to “wintry mix” or “really really cold” so it’s probably not a good thing for the people who live there, but the rest of us get to enjoy a nice splat of pink on the map! In this case it represents -20 degrees, though, which is not so much fun. According to this map, I’m in the 10 degree range, which is about right based on the forecasts. The warmest spot on the map is Miami at 60 degrees which I imagine is pretty frigid for them!

I am reluctant to bring you this product, because I tried to obtain it and failed. And yet I feel I would be remiss in my duties as a blogger of all things pink if I left it out. I’m talking about the official Hello Kitty credit card, a Visa issued by Bank of America. When I originally applied a couple of years ago, there were no benefits with the card – you just got to carry Hello Kitty around in your wallet and see her smiling mouthless face every time you visited a cash register. Now, though, Sanrio credit card holders can participate in the WorldPoints program and earn a point per dollar spent. Additionally, after making a qualifying purchase, new members will also get an exclusive business card case – sadly not the sparkly one! (I’ve also seen the offer with a change purse attached, but currently they’re offering a business card case.)

I’m not sure if the picture at right is the actual product, because it’s got a Playboy bunny on it – but it is an example of what a pink Hummer limo looks like. And check out the interior, it’s pink too! You can only get this in the UK from Midlands Limos. It can reportedly hold 16 of your friends and there are multiple flat screen TVs and an audio system. No word on how much this lovely number costs but it’s bound to be a lot! I can really only see this working for a night out on the town – it’s too garish for a wedding and probably too expensive for a prom – even if you split the cost 16 ways. But it would be great for driving around laughing with your friends, assuming you have enough cash to rent it!

Oh my god, this is not just any pink limo. This is the Love Limo. It’s operated by a wedding service in Bristol that caters to same-sex weddings. If you are in Bristol, Wales, or Southwest England and you want a totally faboo limousine, you can call up Pink Weddings and ask for their glittery pink limo! The sides could have been a little more imaginative but I adore the heart-shaped windows in back!

Okay, so I am a big dork…I love playing with paper dolls online! The eLouai ones are probably the best, but Meez are cool too – they are animated! You can see my Meez’s animation if you click on her. They have a pretty good selection of outfits, accessories, and backgrounds; unfortunately some of them require “Coinz” but there’s a bunch of free stuff too. There was a ton of pink stuff I could have chosen for this Meez, but I ended up with the outfit you see at left. (I was disappointed the pink motorcycle cost Coinz, that would have been really awesome!)

Well it’s not officially from Nintendo, unlike the pink DS Lite, but it is a pink version of the hottest video game console out right now. It’s from painting specialists Colorware and it will set you back $99 to have your Wii painted in two shades of pink. They also sell painted iPods, laptops, and other gaming consoles. The prices are expensive but the end result looks good!
