Wear Pink Against Bullying

Wear Pink Against Bullying February 25, 2009 is Pink Shirt Day in Canada. It originated with two teenage boys who saw a young kid being bullied in school. The boys went to the store and got 50 pink tank tops, distributed them to fellow students, and wore them in solidarity with the kid who was being bullied, who had worn pink on the first day of school. Today the movement has spread and in 2008 over 100,000 people participated. I’ll definitely be wearing pink on February 25th, I hope you will too.

Get Your Kit On

Pink Car Kit While you and I may not think twice about being sold a package containing multiple items, kitting is a rather big business. It involves just what you’d think – manufacturers take various parts and put them together in a single unit (often with its own box or bag) to be sold as one piece. The point is to make life easier…if you need a screwdriver, you look in your pink tool kit, of course. And if you are trapped in your vehicle and need to break the window to escape a life-threatening situation, you pull out the glass hammer from your pink car kit, slice through your seatbelt, smash the window, and crawl to safety. The same kit also has tools for less urgent situations, including an air freshener, jumpstart cables (in red and black), and an ice scraper. But it doesn’t stop there! The Pink Toolbox Company also has a gardening kit, a travel kit, and a gym kit – everything you need for a wide variety of applications, all in ballerina pink.

Tampon Taser

Tampon Taser I suspect this product is not real, but let’s pretend it is. It’s a stun gun shaped like a tampon, of all things. The main flaw I see in this device are that it wouldn’t look particularly good while you were walking to your car in the dark – it’s supposed to be discreet, and you can certainly fit it in the palm of your hand, but who carries around tampons outside their wrapper? But furthermore, how is the tampon supposed to get shot out of the applicator? Those plastic applicators are kind of stiff, I can’t imagine it could pack sufficient punch to get through the rounded end. Then again, if it’s enough to zap someone, maybe it’s enough to get out. Anyway, I don’t think this is real, but it’s amusing. Maybe someday an attractive, realistic pink taser will come to market.

Seal Safety Keychain

Seal Zapper Pendant Well isn’t this adorable! From StrapYa.com, the top website for Japanese cell phone charms, comes a cute little seal keychain/charm that dispenses 195 Volts of anti-attacker energy. It’s like a cute seal with a very dark side. What’s even more fun is that the zap comes out of its tail end, so it’s like it’s – well, you know! If you want to check out StrapYa’s English-language site, you can find them at Strapya World.
