Hello Kitty Shake Mixer

Hello Kitty Shake Mixer Further evidence that everything you could ever need in your life is available with Hello Kitty on it: the Hello Kitty shake mixer. Just put Kitty’s – um, appendage – in your powdered drink, add water, and turn her on. Instant milkshake! I could actually conceive of using this myself because I sometimes have various shake things, but I don’t think I could conceive of paying $35 for it. But still, just in case you doubted that you could outfit your entire kitchen in Hello Kitty, there it is!

Spring Scale

Pink Spring Scale When I saw the shocking pink spring scale, I immediately thought of dieting. Perhaps that’s just because I’ve been on a diet for several years now, or perhaps it’s because I don’t cook – either way, I thought of dieting. But according to the site that’s selling it, they can also be used for baking and calculating roasting times. I have no idea how you would use it for baking – surely you can just convert any amounts in the recipe, right? I guess it’s good for calculating roasting times, I can sort of see how that would work, though I don’t know enough about it to be sure. Anyway, if you need it for measuring diet portions or any other reason, it’s a great addition to make your kitchen totally pink!

It’s Cold In Here

Smeg Refrigerator It amuses me that even the largest appliance in the kitchen comes in a gorgeous shade of pink. Unfortunately it’s a little small, under five feet tall and only a little over nine cubic feet. And the inside isn’t pink, although it does come with a small ice section and some drawers. And yet, this refrigerator is cool for another reason: it says S M E G across the front. (Yeah, I’m giggling.) Apparently the company name is Smeg. I’ve never heard of it before, as far as I’m concerned, smeg means…well, see for yourself.

Fondue Set

Fondue Set There’s a restaurant chain called The Melting Pot that has a location near me. They’re extremely popular, if you want to eat there you better make a reservation! And once you get there, bring your highest-limit credit card…it’s a pricey place. But why should I go to The Melting Pot when I can get a pink chocolate fondue set for under $10? I’m not sure if it would also work with cheese; I don’t know what the specifications are. But it’s really easy to use – plug it in, crank up the heat, put in some chocolate, and once it’s melted use the little skewers to dip your favorite foods (usually one uses fruit with this kind of thing). It’s a good housewarming gift!

Komachi Knife

Komachi Knife When I first spotted the pink meat knife I thought it was cool but perhaps a little silly. I like that the whole thing is pink, not just the handle, but I thought the pink blade made it too cutesy – and given that you can stab somebody with one of these, cute is not necessarily a good thing. But then I discovered that it’s part of the Komachi line of color-coded knives which are intended to enhance food safety by keeping you from mixing up your knives and using them for unintended purposes. The cutouts on the handle – this one has a cow, a duck, etc. – remind you what you should be using that knife for while you’re cooking.

Pink Pig Grill

Pink Pig Grill It’s a grill. It’s a pig. What? Yup, it’s a barbecue grill shaped like a giant pig. Traeger, a grill company, has come out with the BBQ Pig for $1600. It’s obviously a girl pig – you can tell from the eyelashes and the teats. It’s on casters, so if you’re not using it as a grill, you can unhook it and roll it around to freak out your guests!

Caffeine with Kitty

HK Coffee Maker Although the English/Japanese USB keyboard and the desktop wastebasket caught my eye, the Hello Kitty item that caught my eye on GizmoDiva lately was the six-cup coffee maker. It has all the features you could want in a coffee maker: water level gauges, a washable filter basket, and – well, whatever else you would want in a coffee maker. The red power indicator on the bottom looks a little garish with this shade of pink, but perhaps it’s not that bad in person, or perhaps it looks pink when it lights up. If I drank enough coffee to need my own coffee maker, this is definitely one I would get – suitable for home use, or even in small offices that don’t need an enormous urn-thing like my office has.

Cook for the Cure

Pink Kitchen Set It appears that I was only reporting partial information when I talked about the pink mixer, because it turns out KitchenAid has an entire pink kitchenware set! The Cook for the Cure website features a dinner party kit you can order, so you can use your brand new set with glee. In addition to the stand-up mixer itself, there’s a mixer cover, a toaster, a pink heart-shaped silicone cake pan, two different blenders, a variety of utensils and cutlery, two different food processors, and a hand mixer! All in pink. If you want to outfit your kitchen in a nice subtle pink shade – and donate money to the Susan G. Komen Foundation with your purchase – definitely start with KitchenAid.

Mushroom Timer

Mushroom Timer This cute little fellow makes for an adorable and functional kitchen decoration. It’s much cuter than the usual style kitchen timers, but it still goes all the way up to one hour. It’s pretty tiny – about three inches tall and wide – and in addition to pink it also comes in green and dark blue. You can use it to time just about anything; it’s $12 from Fred Flare.

Stand-Up Mixer

Stand-Up Mixer I’m not sure what Alton Brown would make of this Kitchenaid product, but if you’re interested in decorating your entire kitchen in pink, this is a good addition. It’s enormous, large enough to handle nine cups of flour or seven cups of mashed potatoes at a time! It comes with a variety of different heads, but I have to admit I’m not sure what they’re for! The mixer is a bit pricey when you buy it from Kitchenaid, it’s $350, but they will donate $50 for each purchase to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
