Haba Heart Rug
This “From The Heart” rug, by Haba, is listed as being for children’s rooms – presumably girls’ rooms if you want to stay stereotypical with it. But I’d be perfectly happy to place this in my bathroom in the house we’ll be moving into! At four feet in diameter it’s too big for in front of the actual toilet, but it would work well as a bathmat for the jumbo tub we’ll be getting. Too bad it’s $171 – I can’t conceive of ever paying that much for a rug. But again, if I was going to, this would be it! It’s just so whimsical and fun.
Orion Hanging Lamp
Bare bulbs hurt your eyes – it’s essential to have a lampshade over a bulb. And what better choice than the Orion hanging lamp, which will spread diffuse pink light throughout the room? I’m not sure if it actually makes light seem pink, but it seems like a sort of “external party bulb” type thing, like those blue lightbulbs you can get that make blue light. I think the rose one is better than the magenta one personally, but the magenta one might have a more dramatic effect. It’s about the size of a basketball though – 12″ diameter – so you should make sure to hang it with enough room so you don’t clonk your head on it!
Cute Cord Holders
My entertainment center looks great from the outside, but a deep dark secret lurks behind it: the wires are a mess. It takes me 20 minutes anytime I want to hook something up or change things around, because the cords are all over the place and I don’t know what goes where. But Rakuten’s series of animal cord holders keep cables and wires neat and tidy. They’re about $3 each, and when they get dingy after sitting on the floor for a while, you can wash them by hand with a mild detergent.
Pink Heart Vase
I have to admit, I have always loved this heart vase from Uncommon Goods. I really like the red one too, but this one looks like it was just made for red roses! You’d have to cut them down really short for them to look good – the vase itself is less than five inches high. But it’s just adorable…the almost-abstract shape is so amazing. I just love this cute little vase!
