The latest product to get the pink-for-breast-cancer treatment is Emergen-C, a powdered drink mix that contains huge amounts of Vitamin C. The company has partnered with Keep A Breast Foundation since 2007 and they donate 50% of profits from this item to the charity. That’s actually not too shabby an amount, when you consider that other companies only donate 5-10% of their profits from pink items. The Emergen-C Pink product, which is pink lemonade flavored, is reportedly the brainchild of actress Liv Tyler, along with her mother and grandmother.

Pink Wheelchair

This picture is a bad example, but I saw a pink wheelchair similar to it at school the other day! It was a Quickie GTX wheelchair being used by an adult woman. I was surprised to see that wheelchairs come in all kinds of cool colors now. This isn’t something you can really just go out and buy, so it doesn’t quite fit in with most things on PinkBlog, but I thought it was cool enough to share!

This item is only pink under certain conditions, but it’s a very important item for you to have anyway. If you’re outside too long under harmful UV rays, the Melanoma Bracelet will turn from white to pink. It’s only $4.95, but shipping is $8.95, so you might want to order something additional. Personally I think they should offer a special shipping rate. They’re obviously making the bracelet available at an affordable rate because it’s an important item for people to have, so they really should make shipping affordable too.

Tongue Ads in Japan

Because nothing wants to make you brush your teeth like seeing giant tongues in your subway station, Reach has stepped up its marketing tactics with these enormous 3D plastic tongues. I always thought the selling point for Reach was that you could reach your back teeth – remember the guy with the hinged head? But apparently they’re targeting tongues too. Reportedly Reach is offering Japanese consumers a toothbrush with a tongue cleaner on the back. (Sounds like it would get awfully gooey to me.) But giant pink tongues aren’t the only things you can see in Tokyo train stations…check out some more Japanese advertising gimmicks.

Getting Fit with Hello Kitty

I just started a new diet and as a result I need to add exercise into the equation. I’m not sure how good yoga is as a form of weight loss exercise, but it is certainly popular for people who are concerned about health and wellness in general. So if you’re into yoga, you can pick up the Hello Kitty yoga mat from Japanese Character Heaven. They also have a Hello Kitty gym ball – unfortunately I don’t think it can be used with any of the exercise ball chairs currently on the market, most of which take 52-55cm balls, because this is a 58cm ball…but if you must have a gym ball that fits in one of those chairs, go for the Reebok ball, which is 55cm. Anyway, for more HK exercise, there’s the gym stepper, which wisely does not place HK underfoot – who wants to walk on Hello Kitty?! There’s also the Hello Kitty walking stick, which I think might actually just be a cane, several HK items for your golf caddy, and a couple of soft dumbbells for doing workouts with hand weights!

Hello Kitty Humidifier

I’ve never seen one of these before, but apparently it’s a humidifier that you screw onto any bottled water bottle and it humidifies your air! I can’t figure out where to get it, apparently it’s only available in Korea, but GizmoDiva reports that it’s $43. So yeah, I have no idea how it works, but has that ever been a reason not to get a HK product before?!

Hello Kitty Vitamins

This product is for children – gummy vitamins in a Hello Kitty bottle. It’s made by Spectra, which also makes a FM transmitter for iPod that I used to have – still have, actually, but it’s broken. Anyway, there are 60 vitamins to a bottle, and they come in strawberry, cherry, and orange. They’re presumably only suitable for children, though, because they won’t have enough nutrients for adults. Also, they are not kosher. I’m not sure where to get them online, but you can apparently pick them up in some Target stores. If you really can’t give these up to your kids, you can take them yourself, but follow some advice first.

Weirdest. Pink. Product. Ever. It’s a lung trainer for you to improve your lung capacity. According to Iron Girl, the Power Breathe device can restore your breathing power, thereby increasing your exercise tolerance and your sports performance. And by the way, when it says “Inspiratory Muscle Trainer,” they’re talking about your muscles that you use for inspiration and exhalation…not inspiring your muscles to do better. This is purely a functional product, not a motivational tool. If you are looking for motivation, though, check out the Iron Girl website. In addition to information about their women’s-only triathlons, they have tips on exercise, diet, and training.

Hello Kitty: Bug Killer

It took me a while to figure out what this spray bottle contains, but I finally realized that “harokiteisukinbepumisuto” is Hello Kitty Skin Vapor Mist – in other words, bug spray. Apparently Japanese bugs only bite people on the hands, feet, and neck, because those are the only places they recommend spraying the “Skin Vape” product. Once summer is over and you’ve exhausted the bug spray, you can refill it with something else and you have an instant Hello Kitty spray bottle. (Most of the label is in Japanese anyway, so it’s up to you to remember what’s in it.)

If your bug problems are too overwhelming for the bug spray to handle, there’s also a Vape mosquito killer. Until the Hello Kitty gun becomes a reality (that’s a photoshop job), this might be the most deadly Hello Kitty product out there. (I’m keeping my eyes peeled for a Hello Kitty chainsaw, though.) Google Translate comes up with an unintentionally funny tagline for the Vape: Entrust also insect suppression to the kitty! But she’ll swear to her dying day that she’s really just in waste management…

HK Contact Lens Case

There are a ton of Sanrio contact lens cases out there, and this one is only partially pink, so why am I sharing it? Because it has room for a little bottle of lens cleaner…and it even comes with the bottle! I don’t wear contacts myself, but I have seen the giant bottles of contact lens solution and this has got to be more convenient. You can just stick it in your pocket and you’re ready to go! It’s $16 at Sanrio.com but they rotate their merchandise frequently, so if you want it, go buy it quick.
