Ugly Boots
What do you get when you combine the world’s two most horrible shoes, Crocs and Uggs? The Nadia. It’s by Crocs but it looks like Uggs. Ew.
USB-Heated Slippers
So, about those slippers I mentioned previously…how about these? They’re by Brando, so you know there’s a USB component in them. In this case the slippers are heated by USB. When you’re sitting at your computer and need toasty toes, you can hook up to the USB port – this presumably works best if your computer is on the floor or otherwise near your feet. They also have a battery pack for when you’re not sitting in front of the computer, but given that the pair requires 6 AA batteries to operate, I recommend using them through USB most of the time…or invest in a good set of rechargeables. I assume it’s no accident that they look a bit like Uggs…not a fashion choice I would have made, but then again – who wears their slippers out and about, anyway? If you’re just wearing them in the house, plunk down your $29 and get these.
Slipper Genies
These are silly. I put them under “Footwear” because they’re really not cleaning supplies. (Not that I have a category for those, anyway.) The concept is that you’re supposed to walk around in these things, and they will clean up after you. Clever, but impractical. If you really want to do an effective job cleaning up crumbs, use a broom, otherwise you’re just going to push stuff around. If you want to polish your hardwood floors (these are chenille), use a cloth, otherwise you’re going to have to do a Powerslide-type dance. If you want to walk around and look doofy…well, okay, get them. They’re $10 at Amazon. But I think a nice pair of slippers would be a lot more comfortable, personally.
Pandi Shoes
I just thought these shoes were so cute and I had to share. They are by Born, and they are called Pandi. I’ve been wanting shoes like this for a while, something that you can run in (these have really good soles) but that’s still cute and attractive. At $100 per pair these are WAY too expensive for me; I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before, but I walk funny so I wear my shoes unevenly and buying expensive shoes is not a good idea. But these are still cute, and the Born brand is all hand-stitched so it’s probably worth the $100 – I just can’t afford it! They do have the perfect combination of cute and functional though, don’t they?
Spring in Your Step
And then there’s these!
Welcome to 1983
If these shoes don’t remind you of the 80′s, then…you aren’t old enough to remember the 80′s at all. Because these are quintessential 80′s Reebok hi-tops. I don’t remember the original Reeboks costing $60+ like these – these days the vintage ones start at $5 on eBay and go up to the $70 range there. Then again, I don’t remember the original Reeboks coming in pink or green. Er, wait – I stand corrected! I just found these on eBay, check them out while the auction is still on the site!
Hot Pink Docs
I have a pair of hot pink Converse high-tops. They are pretty awesome. I have a pair of black Doc Martens. They are also pretty awesome. This pair of shoes takes that awesome and squares it. A bit pricey at $109, the hot pink Doc Martens will be SO WORTH IT when you’re walking around with hot pink Doc Martens on your feet. I would honestly be scared to wear them, because Docs have a way of getting scuffed and bonking against stuff, and I’m not sure how great that would look with these. But still. Hello?! HOT PINK DOC MARTENS. Super awesome.
Peace for Your Feet
These are so much cuter than yesterday’s abomination. The pink zebra print on the heel of this clog is a little disturbing, but in general I like the Peace by Two Lips much better than the Sexy. My partner thinks they’re equally bad, but she admits she doesn’t like clogs. I just think these are fun! Who knows how well constructed they are…the edging along where the studs are looks like it’s about to come off. But with a 2.75″ heel these aren’t likely to kill your feet TOO bad. I don’t know what you’d wear them with, but this blog is about presenting pink stuff…you have to figure out what to do with it!
Heel Mayhem
I feel like doing a week of shoes, so you get a week of shoes! Maybe a few other things here and there, but mostly shoes. This…thing…is by a company called Promiscuous. They chose to call this shoe the Sexy. Um, whatever. How about a complete abomination? Seriously, these things have got so much going on it’s like wearing an entire amusement park on your feet. The black, cream, and red versions are no better. If you like them, that’s fine, but personally there is just TOO MUCH CRAZY for one pair of shoes as far as I’m concerned. If you do like them, they’ll cost you $109. Thank god for the “heart-shaped gel insert” because that 4.5″ heel is going to be hard to wear. So. Insane.
Crocs for the Cure
For the entire month of the October, every pair of pink Crocs you buy will result in $5 being sent to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. There’s not very many styles; I chose the Malindi to feature here, though the stylish Sassari count as well. The other pink styles are only the usual goofy-looking Crocs, so if you want comfortable, attractive pink shoes that contribute to breast cancer research, go with the Malindi or Sassari. Only for October!
