HK Bling Charm

Hello Kitty Bling Charm I found this Hello Kitty Bling Charm in the Sanrio.co.jp store; I’m not sure what it’s really called because the title is only rendered as [harokiteisuwarohusukiroketsutochiyamu]. I can tell “Swarovski” is in there, and as you can see from the pictures it’s a completely blinged-out charm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such truly complete paving before – they did an excellent job fitting the crystals together, and they placed them on matching painted backgrounds so it really looks outstanding. It’s tiny, less than two inches tall, so I’m not sure what you could even keep in it, but it does open up. It is nearly $400, so I doubt it’s likely you’d find a friend with one of these, and you can be the only one on your block with this trinket if you want to cough up the cash for it!

Karim Rashid’s Pink World

Omni Sofa I have walked past Karim Rashid’s showroom in New York City many times, and I always figured he was a bright colors kind of guy – there’s always lots of lime green around, particularly at Nooch, the restaurant up the street designed by Rashid. But it turns out he actually has quite a lot of pink in his collection.

There’s the $160 mobile hard drive, which in addition to being hot pink, also has a dizzying pattern imprinted on it. There’s also the bizarre refillable lighter, which stands up by itself, and at $9 is probably the cheapest way to get your hands on a Karim Rashid design. For your father, brother, or other important man in your life, there’s the pink men’s sandals. But the real winner in Mr. Rashid’s pink selection is the Omni Sofa, which is pictured here. I have no idea how you’re supposed to sit in it or use it, but it’s $18,000 anyway! (This just might be the most expensive item I will ever write about…)

Accessorizing with Tarina Tarantino

Skull Cuff Bracelet I love Tarina Tarantino‘s products. If you browse through the jewelry section, there is pink everywhere! A lot of it is subtle but there are some standout pieces like this skull set. The bracelet will set you back $100, the earrings are $70, and the necklace is $325, but they’re cute! Skull Drop Earrings In any case, the skulls are part of the “Memento Mori” collection, which means “Remember you are mortal.” (Maybe they’re mortal, but I’m going to live forever!) I was planning to say “you could probably make these yourself” but I can’t find pink skull beads anywhere on the web, so maybe you do have to get these from Tarina Tarantino! Some of the other stuff might be easy to make, though. Skull Necklace By the way, don’t miss the Hello Kitty collection on the site. There are a number of different motifs, including several bridal accessories like a $500 Hello Kitty tiara and a $138 leg garter. Tarina explains why she likes Hello Kitty, too.

Juicy Couture Camp Survival Kit

Juicy Couture Camp Survival Kit Most of the places where I saw this Juicy Couture product mentioned expressed surprise that it was called a “survival” kit, but didn’t come with a knife, matches, etc. But I ask you: what kind of camp does the typical Juicy Couture customer go to? That’s right, Idol Camp. And what does she need there? That’s right, a cute little pillow, a cute little bag, postcards to send to the kids who couldn’t afford to go, etc. So this is the perfect survival kit for the type of person who would be buying anything with Juicy Couture on it! The three shades of pink plus one shade of brown is a little shocking though, they would have done better with white instead of brown. But hey, who am I to question Juicy’s sense of style? This thing is a whopping $95 at Neiman-Marcus.

Sparkly Rings

Adolfo Rings Ooooh, shiny! These fantastically expensive rings are totally glam. They are said to be stackable, but it looks like all four on one finger would be too big, and any less would look too shiny and eye-popping. I guess one shiny and one flat per be-ringed finger might go well together, what do you think? If you don’t want to pay $5,650 for the whole set, individual rings go for $1,050 to $1,950. I’m not sure why white gold, enamel, and a 0.11ct diamond would be quite that expensive, but I guess Adolfo (whoever that is) just commands that much.

A Very Expensive Purse

Gucci Peggy Bag I really want to have affordable items on this blog. I was waiting for someone in Neiman Marcus today, and I found a really cute pink bag. I didn’t note down who made it, but I figured I could find it on the Neiman’s website. Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the website, but I did find the Gucci bag pictured here. It’s Italian, and it doesn’t look super huge – I think the 11.75″ height quoted is including the bamboo handle – but it’s kind of a fun and funky blend of styles. Unfortunately, if you want to buy this, it’s going to set you back $1,450! I can’t imagine spending that much on a purse, myself – I’d have to keep all makeup out of it, because I have bad luck with things coming uncapped and coloring themselves all over my bag. But it’s a cute purse, so I figured I’d share it in lieu of the one I saw at the store. (If anybody recognizes the one from the store, please let me know who made it!)

HK Angel Notebook and Nano

HK Angel Notebook and Nano If you have $2,000 and you hurry, you might be able to grab the Hello Kitty Notebook and Nano package. It’s an Epson Endeavor NA101, which is a Japanese model with pretty much baseline figures – Windows XP, 512mb of RAM, 40gb hard drive, etc. It’s pretty small, just a 12″ screen, but Hello Kitty will appear right-side up to people who are standing in front of you while you use the laptop! The 4gb Nano is an extra bonus, it’s pink of course with an HK emblem on the back. Oh, and did I mention…they only made 100 of these sets! You might need to have it shipped to Japan, it’s at the Japanese Sanrio store, so if you don’t already have a friend there, find someone you trust who can take receipt of this item for you and pass it on.

Zune Available Now

pinkzune.jpg I hadn’t even heard of the pink Zune, probably because I haven’t heard any great buzz about the Zune, period. I’d consider it one of the bigger flops Microsoft has produced, though not quite as bad as BOB. Anyway, like all products, there just has to be a pink version! It turns out 100 pink Zunes were released last year, but now they’ve unleashed the floodgates on 100,000 pink Zunes. Amazon.com has them for the usual $250 retail price, which makes me think that the initial run of 100,000 isn’t going to be the last we see of the pink Zune.

Hello Kitty Pavé Ring

Hello Kitty Pavé Ring Leave it to Neiman Marcus to make a Hello Kitty item too expensive for me to ever afford! The Hello Kitty ring is $4,250 and contains one carat of stones. It’s mostly diamonds, and oddly enough the bow is made with pink sapphires. The nose is yellow citrine and the eyes are onyx. I really wish it came in white gold…not that I could afford that either, but I prefer jewelry with a silver-like tone.

It’s apparently sold out, though, because you can’t buy it on the Neiman Marcus website. They suggest a $1,300 necklace instead…what a bargain!
