Why buy a plain optical mouse for $2.25 when you can buy a wireless pink optical mouse for $17.50? Buy wait, why buy that when you can buy the Ed Hardy Optical Mouse, which requires a cord, for $28?! Yes, here at PinkBlog we are all about the Ed Hardy. Yup. We also like the Ed Hardy USB Stick (1GB) for $32! For only $20 more, we like the 4GB version and for just $78 we are in love with the 8GB version! (Picture here).

Ew, wait, no we aren’t. We hate Ed Hardy. Goddamn overpriced crap. But hey, it comes in pink, so…there you go.

Samsung Soul

Are there still people out there who use phones with standard keypads? Really? I thought everybody was all qwerty-fied by now. Anyway, if you are looking for a very nice pink phone that almost resembles an iPhone when closed, check out the Samsung Soul. It runs on 3G (HSDPA), has an external microSD slot, a five-megapixel camera with face recognition and auto-focus, and an FM radio (!). The amplifier for listening to music is made by well-known audio company Bang & Olufsen, and that microSD slot supports high-capacity cards so you will be able to bring along all your tunes. Again, no qwerty keypad which is a turn-off for me, but you will look hot with this phone. The link above is only good for UK customers, but you can get an unlocked version for US use at the same price – about $420.

Honestly this calculator seems like a piece of junk, but it just has that essential faboo that made me want to post it. And then I found out it was $275, so I knew I had to post it! As far as I can tell, it’s a very basic calculator – this one is $20 and has pretty much the same features – but then they added some Swarovski crystals to it, and poof! You have a $275 calculator! Maybe you can use it to find out what your budget needs to be now that you’ve spent $275 on a junky calculator.

Surreal Wine Chiller

In my family, if we want wine chilled, we stick it in the fridge. If we need it chilled in a hurry, we have a big ol’ metal bucket that we fill with ice, and we stick the wine in that. In Karim Rashid’s crazy world, wine is chilled by putting it in the Globalight. You stick the bottle in, and LEDs light up the whole thing with a pink glow. I’m not sure how the lights keep from warming the bottle, but if you have a spare $4500, you can get this thing and tell me how it works.

There is only so much you can do to turn your phone into a Hello Kitty extravaganza without actually owning a Hello Kitty phone. Sure, you can skin it (I love that site BTW, have used them three times) and get a Hello Kitty case and use Hello Kitty wallpaper and devise your own kawaii ringtone. But you still don’t have a Hello Kitty phone. Unless, of course, you have the Hello Kitty cell phone from DreamKitty. It’s the OKWAP i885 with a feline twist. Now, is it a good phone? Well, probably not. Once you’ve figured out how to switch it from Chinese to English, you will run into a lot of deficiencies. The web browser is WAP, which most phones have outgrown these days. The display is tiny, and although you can take pictures and video with the 2MP camera, its ringtone options are limited. (Then again, I have a Sidekick 3, so don’t talk to me about limited ringtone options.) Anyway, it does come bundled with a few neat programs – currency converter, Chinese-English dictionary, and – er – calorie counter…but I’m not sure if you can actually install anything else on here. It won’t be particularly well-supported, and considering that it costs $600 I would hope for a little more help than it looks like this will come with. At any rate, if you want a Hello Kitty phone, this one does work in the United States with several different carriers. Considering that most Hello Kitty phones stay in Asia, this is your best bet, so grab it while DreamKitty still has it! (They go out of stock pretty fast on many things.)

Vertu Pricing

First, allow me to apologize for going without posting for so long – I was making it through finals and then recovering from finals! I got A’s in four out of five classes, and that’s after 9 years of not being in school at all, so I’m pretty pleased with the results.

Anyway, I wanted to draw your attention back to the Vertu Pink Diamond phone I wrote about in June. At the time, pricing was not available, nor could anybody tell me where to begin to look to get one. I found a rumor about a $20,000+ price tag, and just assumed it was one of those products that you have to Know People to actually get.

Please forgive me, because I was off by quite a bit. You can now buy this little gadget from Neiman Marcus for only $73,000. Of course, if you don’t want to spend that much, you can always keep your phone budget to $3,000 and donate the other 70k to charity. What’s that you say? You want to blow even more money than what this phone will cost you? Well step right this way…here is a list of the top 10 most expensive mobile phones out there.

Hard-Drive Stereo System

Now listen up! If you want cool music pumped out of your pink speakers, the Sony D55HD is for you! As far as I know, it’s only available in Japan, but as near as I can make out from the Japanese site, it’s pretty cool. (I don’t read Japanese, so I’m depending on Google Translate.) The stereo uses Gracenote to pick up CDDB information, so you can put in a CD and it will automatically find the song info, assuming you have it hooked up to your network. It’s wireless network-aware too, which means you can have your computer upstairs play the music that’s stored on your stereo’s hard drive downstairs. You can hook up an iPod (or other player) to it, and it will automatically sync all your songs to its hard drive. So far the price is listed as “upcoming” but I’ve seen reports that the 250GB version will cost about $1000, though the 80GB version will presumably cost less.

In the continuing effort to make your entire kitchen pink, I have come up with this baby pink espresso maker. It’s available from Kitchen Universe for only $650. That means it would only take 371 double-shots of espresso at Starbucks to pay for itself! It’s a no brainer! Unless, of course, you choke at the idea of spending $650 on a tarted-up coffee pot. Clearly this is for pink lovers who have a lot of extra dough…

Fujitsu Laptop

Fujitsu tried hard to make their pink P7230 laptop appealing to girls. They made the entire back of it pink, and a really nice shade too. But their fatal flaw was that only the back is pink. See, when I’m using a laptop, I’m not looking at the back. I’m looking at the front of the monitor and the keypad area, and on the P7230 both of these appear to be white. And once again, this laptop is high on price (starting at $1600) and low on features (a 60GB hard drive?!)…apparently if you want a fancy high-end laptop that is also pink, once again you’ve got to turn to Colorware.

Vertu Pink Diamond Phone

I was not previously aware of this, but it turns out diamonds come in pink! The Steinmetz Pink Diamond is the largest pink diamond ever, but the Vertu Pink Diamond phone is covered in much, much smaller pink diamonds. (It also comes in white diamonds, but this is Pink Blog, so who cares about the white one?) There are 923 pink and white diamonds, sapphires, and rubies on the phone, and the keypad is rose gold. The price has reportedly not been released to the public – “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” – but I have seen rumors that it’s $20,000 or more.
