Gift Envelope

Celebration Envelope The next time you’re going to give a gift card, why not present it Japanese-style? For just $3 you can give it in a lovely gift envelope? These are called shÅ«gi-bukuro and usually contain money as a wedding gift, but you can put anything you like in one and give it as a gift. I think it’s cute, even if an American recipient would have little to no idea of the cultural significance of the envelope. Then again, you could give it to someone who is a fan of Japanese culture, anime, and so forth – it might very well be appreciated there!

Make a Bear

Latch Hook Teddy For $29 you can make your own latch hook teddy! Seems a little high to me, but they provide almost all the equipment necessary. You have to get your own hook and stuffing, but those are easily found at your local Michael’s, Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Pink Yarn

Cotton Candy Homespun I’ve been getting into crochet a lot lately, you can see some of my stuff at my Etsy shop. But what I’m writing about today is something I haven’t actually made yet. Pictured at left is a close-up of Lion Brand Yarn’s “Homespun” product, in the Cotton Candy color. I’ve got a skein of that, and I also have a couple of balls of hot pink Fun Fur and a couple of balls of soft pink Fun Fur. Now in your head, put all of those together. You can probably imagine the fuzzy pink delight that is going to result! Some people compare fun fur items to Muppets, so if you’re having a hard time imagining the delightful concoction I will be making, let me introduce you to Businka, from the Russian version of Sesame Street! When I’m done making the item, I’ll have a picture of course. Meanwhile, don’t forget, it’s not too late to enter the PinkBlog Contest!
