Pink Glitter Toms

These are the awesome shoes I dream of when I see little girl running around in pink sequined shoes. It’s hard to find the perfect little-girl shoe in big-girl sizes, but this is pretty close! And Toms seem to be really popular, so I assume they are also super comfortable. I wish these weren’t $65…no way I can afford them. (The cheapest Toms shoes are $55, but they don’t seem to come in pink from what I can tell.) Anyway, for those of you who buy them, feel good knowing that making these your 20th pair of shoes will also get a child in need his or her very first pair.

Pink is Beautiful Series

I happened upon this “Pink is Beautiful” campaign through a discussion of homoeroticism in sports. I thought I was clicking through to the Dieux du stade calendars, but instead it was the Stade Français general shop…with pink splashed all over it! In addition to the $30 Pink is Beautiful shirts, there’s a $75 pink v-neck sweater (picture saved for posterity here), several other pink items for men, women, and children, and – my personal favorite – the $120 pink jersey. Check it out, so gorgeous. I must have one!

I haven’t figured out yet why Stade Français is all about the pink, though. But isn’t it awesome?!

This is Carrie Underwood arriving for some American Idol event. I believe this dress is properly described as a “confection,” don’t you think? Though actually, now that I think about it, it’s a little too bright to be a confection. Anyway, pink dress!

Handmade Apron

The price is right on this adorable apron – under $30! Of course it’s highly unlikely anyone will have the Donna Reed dress it should probably be paired with, but I think it will be perfectly nice over a pair of jeans and a t-shirt too. The vintage inspiration is just adorable, and of course if you really want, you can wear it with nothing at all.

Piggy Belt

Sorry for slacking off on the daily posting…I’m trying, but school is keeping me busy! Anyway, here is an adorable little “>piggy belt from ShanaLogic. It’s the kind of thing you’d expect to be really expensive but it’s only $16! Unfortunately it’s “not recommended for waists over 42 inches” which puts it out for bigger girls. But for those of you who can fit into it, it’s really adorable and adds a little spark to your outfit. ShanaLogic is actually a pretty cool site, lots of fun DIY-type accessories and such…except you didn’t do them yourself!

Gorilla Suit

So I’m looking at a blog, and someone mentions the pink credit card costume. Hmm, not bad. But I thought to myself, this isn’t completely pink. You have to wear a lot of black. So I set out looking for a better pink costume. I looked at the sassy cupid, the sexy cowboy, the poodle skirt, the flamingo…and then I saw it. The pink gorilla suit. I don’t think there is anything better than a pink gorilla suit. In fact, I should probably just stop the blog, because nothing beats a pink gorilla suit. The pink gorilla suit trumps all. I have discovered the ultimate pink thing, I can die happy. And if I had $120, I’d get it and die happy in a pink gorilla suit.

Pink Unicorn Scrub Top

I’m working in a pediatric hospital unit this week and next week, so I’ve been seeing a lot of scrubs around. I’m an interpreter, so I don’t get to wear scrubs myself, but if I did, I would totally grab this pink unicorn V-neck top for only $11! And of course I’d need a matching pair of pants, so I’d go with these $8 pink scrub pants. I think it must actually be pretty cool to wear scrubs every day…so easy to coordinate tops and bottoms and you never have to worry about anybody showing you up by dressing better than you!

Swimsafe Floatsuit

For those of you who have little ones who are afraid of the water, consider the Swimsafe Floatsuit. It’s only for ages 2-5, so if you have trouble swimming, I suggest lessons. But for kids, this provides an excellent way for them to get comfortable in the water. There are buoyancy panels in the front and back which act like a life vest, helping keep your child afloat, and there’s also extra buoyancy at the neck, which helps keep kids right-side-up and keeps their face out of the water. It might actually be difficult to learn to swim in something as buoyant as this, but for kids who refuse to go near the water at all, this is a good way to introduce them to it. Once they’re comfortable, then they can learn how to swim. Meanwhile, the suit has a zipper in back so kids can’t wriggle out of it, and it also provides SPF 50 protection for all body parts that it covers!

Nano Visor

For $16, you can get your iPod wires off your neck thanks to the Nano Visor from iXoundwear. Thanks to its innovative spool system, you won’t have to have wires hanging down when you’re listening to music. The company also offers a version for the second generation iPod shuffle, but that seems a little counterintuitive to me – can’t you just jam the wires under your cap and clip the shuffle onto the side of your hat? Anyway, if your chosen sport doesn’t involve much bouncing and bobbing (like if you’re a cyclist maybe, but then shouldn’t you be wearing a helmet?) you could get this cap and not worry about using your hands to hold your Nano or those pesky cords constantly attacking you.

Vintage 1950′s Dress

You can’t have this dress and neither can I, because it’s already been sold on eBay. But I thought it was too cute to pass up! It’s got rhinestones at the neckline and little daisies below those, and it has a matching pink belt and little bows. It’s actually for a normal sized woman, with a 38″ bust, 28″ waist, and 44″ hips. It was sold by Dorothea’s Closet and it brought in an astonishing $300! I’m not sure that the color would flatter a wide range of people, but it’s a cute outfit nonetheless.
