Etsy Color Tool
I don’t post about Etsy too often, because I like to post things everyone has a chance of getting, and Etsy is a largely one-off site. But I wanted to mention Shop by Color over there. Let it load and then hover over the upper right corner of the grid…click to find pink items!
Pinkwashing
From the Think Before You Pink campaign:
Pinkwasher: (pink’-wah-sher) noun. A company that purports to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon campaign, but manufactures products that are linked to the disease.
This is an excellent point. As much as we here at PinkBlog (okay, me, there’s only one of me) love that everything under the sun is now available in pink, we really have to admit that sometimes that 1% donation to a breast cancer fund is not at all practical or even helpful. I’ve seen small print where companies say “up to $10,000 will be donated” – which is to say, if enough people buy the pink whatzits, then the rest above $10k is pure profit for the company. You think you’re doing something good, but read the fine print.
On a related note, the Buy (Less) Crap people focus on the (RED) campaign and help you to give money directly without consuming.
No commentsPink Haier TV
22″ is not really that big for a TV. I’m pretty sure my TV is about that size, and it’s practically tiny compared to my friends’ TVs. But if you have a tiny apartment, this might be right for you. Or if you have a huge house and you want a TV in the bathroom or something like that, this might work. It’s 720p so hopefully you get HD in the bathroom! Available at Target for $228.
Star Tattoo
I have been browsing star tattoos like crazy (over on BMEink) and I came across this great pink tattoo. Of course I had to share it.
No idea who the owner is, but it was done by Happ of Acute Body Arts in Connecticut.
Fairy Castle Cake
The recipe for this Fairy Castle Cake is in British units, and some of the ingredients are unfamiliar to me, but I’m sure you can come up with something similar!
