Pink PS2

Pink PS2 for Europe and Australia Haha, Americans, sucks to be you! I mean…us! As evidence of how Americentric this blog is, I completely missed that Europe and Australia have had an honest to goodness pink PS2, an actual Sony product, since 2007. Apparently it came bundled with two controllers and a memory card…all pink. The cables are pink, everything is pink. It also came with the game SingStar Pop, because apparently girls won’t want to play Resident Evil 4 on their pink machines. If you want one, you can check out eBay – this one is $300 – but be warned that it’s PAL format, not the US standard NTSC.

Wear Pink Against Bullying

Wear Pink Against Bullying February 25, 2009 is Pink Shirt Day in Canada. It originated with two teenage boys who saw a young kid being bullied in school. The boys went to the store and got 50 pink tank tops, distributed them to fellow students, and wore them in solidarity with the kid who was being bullied, who had worn pink on the first day of school. Today the movement has spread and in 2008 over 100,000 people participated. I’ll definitely be wearing pink on February 25th, I hope you will too.

Pink Wheelchair

Quickie Wheelchair This picture is a bad example, but I saw a pink wheelchair similar to it at school the other day! It was a Quickie GTX wheelchair being used by an adult woman. I was surprised to see that wheelchairs come in all kinds of cool colors now. This isn’t something you can really just go out and buy, so it doesn’t quite fit in with most things on PinkBlog, but I thought it was cool enough to share!

Hat Tip for Moi

I fell off my chair just now. PinkBlog got a goddamn HAT TIP! Super thousands of happy rosy pink thanks to WebUrbanist for their geeky game systems article that included a picture from PinkBlog and the cite linking here! Seriously, I thought I was the only person who reads this blog at all. And Marc and Hannah, who commented in the recent contest. I’m sure the folks at WebUrbanist found me through search, but who knows, that little hat tip might lead a few people to click through. Honestly I had to click through myself to make sure I was reading the status bar right. That totally just made my day, thank goodness for StumbleUpon! :D

MioPINK Heart Rate Monitor

MioPINK Heart Rate Monitor Although most pieces of gym equipment now have metal strips that you grip to keep track of your heart rate, there’s still a reason to buy a wrist-worn heart rate monitor. How else are you going to monitor your heart rate while running outside, doing push-ups, or other non-machine-based activities? I’d bet money these are useful for Bowflex users too and you can use them with free weights as well. If you click the link, you can watch a video about how to use the device, which is $80.

Cotton Candy Maker

Cotton Candy Maker Now is a great time to buy this cotton candy maker – or fairy floss maker, since you’re buying it from the UK! I say great time because, well, the pound is not doing so well right now, and what used to cost $60 now costs $40. Of course I’m not sure that you’re going to be spending your money on something like a cotton candy maker right now, but if you were, this would be a good time to do it! Use plain sugar for white cotton candy, or add food coloring for other colors.

Cuisipro Scoop and Stack

Cuisipro Scoop and Stack For those of you who don’t – ahem – eat ice cream out of the Ben and Jerry’s pint with a spoon, there is the Cuisipro Scoop and Stack. I don’t keep ice cream in the house myself, so it’s been a long time since I’ve used an ice cream scoop, and this is apparently the latest in – er – ice cream scoop technology. (Can you tell I’m trying to write this with a straight face?) You can stack your ice cream as high as you want, at least until it topples! It seems to fit a regular cake cone (the square-bottomed kind) perfectly. $15.

Useless USB Gadget #8,472

USB Lamp, Pen Stand, Speaker Can somebody please tell me why you need a lamp to illuminate your pens? Or, for that matter, why you need a speaker if you’re plugging into a computer? Does anybody sell computers without built-in speakers anymore? Or is this speaker somehow delivering fabulous sound out of a tiny plastic package? Many are the mysteries of this little number. And $14?! You’re kidding, right?! I just don’t get this. A lamp that only illuminates your pens, and a speaker that’s worse than what you’ve got it plugged into. I’m tempted to label this “Expensive” because it’s $14 more than it should be.

Pink Football

Pink Walkman with Football I’m just posting this for the sheer hilarity of using football on a pink Walkman. Obviously it’s a simulated screen image, it’s drag and drop from another one, but it comes out funny. Oh, uh, it’s by Sony, if you want it – the NW-A910 – and apparently it’s a TV set.
