Japanese Hello Kitty Products
Right now I’m browsing around the Sanrio Japan shopping website, and I’m going to put down some bizarre things that I find worth sharing. You never know what might be after the jump!
As far as I can tell from the pictures and a translated product page, this is a beverage holder that sticks in your air conditioner vents. Does this sound like a good idea to you? Doesn’t it sound like the weight of a Hello Kitty juice box would pry that thing right off the vent? I know it looks okay in the picture, but you never know - they might have glued it on. Then again, the holder is pretty small, so maybe it can handle the weight of drinks that fit into it, but your Big Gulp would pull it off, so it’s just not able to fit anyway. Oh, did I mention this is a $28 beverage holder? Shyeah, right.
Can you guess what these are? I had to check out the pictures to figure it out. That’s right, they’re for making your boots stand up all by themselves. Reportedly there is a “deodorant & dehumidification effect” involved. I was going to scoff at this, but then I realized - taking your shoes off at the door is a Japanese custom, and girls who wear boots have to take their footwear off too. Although why couldn’t just let the boots flop over is beyond me. $16. (What’s that? You don’t have boots to put these in? Never fear, there is a $93 pair of boots with your Hello Kitty’s name on it!)
Is it my imagination, or does this Hello Kitty have a mouth?!?!?!
I’ve had a post in draft status for a while about a pink Sony DVD Player, but I just deleted that draft. Because why would you get a plain pink personal DVD player when you could get the fabulous Hello Kitty personal DVD player?! They’re practically the same price! I would totally get one of these if I was in the market for such a thing. It comes with a remote control, AV cables, headphones, an AC adapter…this thing makes my head explode with candy!
Now here’s an inducement to do exercise: it’s a pararerusuteppa! Ahem, pardon me. It’s a parallel stepper. You know, one of those little exercise things. The last time I saw one of these, it was really big and had handles and stuff, but apparently they’ve gone small now. How do you stay balanced? Is it for using while you’re sitting down? Either way, it has a calorie counter, and Hello Kitty is all over it. Sweet!
