Sony Walkman Advances

Sony Walkman NW-A805 Remember the old Virginia Slims ads that said “You’ve come a long way, baby”? Well, so has the Sony Walkman. What started as a personal audio cassette player has morphed into a lean, mean, video-and-MP3-playing machine. I had no idea the Walkman played video now! The one pictured at left is the NW-A805, the 2-gig model of their video player. It appears to have the same functions that are universal among MP3 players these days; the high-resolution screen can be used horizontally or vertically. There are other models that have higher capacities, including the 8-gig NW-A808 which has only just been released in pink!

Sony Walkman NW-E015 If you don’t need video playback in your walkman, you can get the NW-E015 pictured at right. Like an iPod Shuffle, it plugs directly into your USB port, but it has a lot more features than the Shuffle - it even has a screen and you can navigate between songs! Three minutes of charging will give you three hours of playback, and a full charge should power the device for 30 hours.
