Vertu Pink Diamond Phone

Vertu Pink Diamond Phone I was not previously aware of this, but it turns out diamonds come in pink! The Steinmetz Pink Diamond is the largest pink diamond ever, but the Vertu Pink Diamond phone is covered in much, much smaller pink diamonds. (It also comes in white diamonds, but this is Pink Blog, so who cares about the white one?) There are 923 pink and white diamonds, sapphires, and rubies on the phone, and the keypad is rose gold. The price has reportedly not been released to the public – “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” – but I have seen rumors that it’s $20,000 or more.

I really despise this sort of conspicuous (sp?) consumption. It’s fine for the makers to create it — that’s “creativity”, I suppose — but anyone who would buy such a thing is an idiot.

[...] I know the LG Chocolate has been available for a while, but I wanted to discuss the color of the “Strawberry Pink” version. Aside from the fact that strawberries are never pink, I just do not like this phone. Having an all-pink phone seems like a good idea, but the execution on this LG model is just not grabbing me. For one thing, I’m not a fan of that shade of pink – it’s bordering on magenta and it’s just too garish for my taste. The red buttons are a huge no-no; why couldn’t they stick with the white that’s used elsewhere on the phone? Even if this phone had the latest and greatest technology, I wouldn’t go for it. There are much more attractive pink phones out there, even ones that don’t cost quite as much as the Vertu. [...]
