I Can’t Explain It
The Guardian had an article recently called La vie en rose that was critical of the pink-everything phenomenon. The article even refers to pink gadgets as “stomach-churningly girly” and suggests that women are being infantilized by having pink things.
Obviously, I disagree strongly with this article. I love pink gadgets and widgets and the whole thing - I would love to go through my entire day with everything pink. I don’t even necessarily know why - I just like pink. It does surprise me, though, that there is a backlash against pink. Why should anybody be irritated that gadgets come in pink, as long as they come in other colors too? I just feel like “if you don’t like it, don’t buy it” - let those of us who like pink things alone, please!
