Pink Ruffled Choker
In 2001, I spent three weeks on vacation in Turkey, which has left me with an affinity for - or at least an interest in - all things Turkish. And yet this choker, by Turkish designer PINaR ERIS, does absolutely nothing for me. Aside from the fact that it’s selling it for sixty-nine dollars ($69?!?!), it’s just unattractive. It looks like somebody cut up a sweatshirt and ran some elastic through it. Is this supposed to be Gothic Lolita, or perhaps just trashy 80’s style? Either way, I don’t like it, even if a Turk designed it. But if you do, don’t let that stop you from buying it…I just hope you have $69 to spend on a bit of ruffled fabric.

To “choke” this post to your pink chinese laundry shoes: last time I was in turkey a souvenirshop was selling 2 kinds of little statues of a turkish man dancing. 1 had a moustache, the other not. The one with the moustache was made in Turkey, the one without the moustache was made in China… Seems the chinese “copy artist” never had seen a “real Turkish man”… It sold much cheaper though although imported all the way from china. Their shoes were pink too though
