USB Utility Tool

USB Charger Swiss Army Knife

I have no idea why you would spend $20 on Fred Flare’s USB Utility Knife when the same gear can be had for much less, and in pink, on eBay. I have pink USB cables, I think I spent about $4 on the 10-foot hot pink micro USB cable I use with my phone every day. This little device has the USB plug for your computer, and then a micro USB piece, a mini USB piece (only my handheld GPS still has that, and I never use it), and a 30-pin connector for Apple devices that don’t have the Lightning connector yet. This thing seems pretty useless. But hey, it’s a cute Swiss Army knife style design, surely people will snap it up anyway.

Elecom Ultimate Laser Mouse

Elecom Ultimate Laser Mouse
The Elecom Ultimate Laser Mouse lets you fiddle with a Windows 8 touchpanel. Because some people don’t want touchpanels, dangit. It’s ¥8515 though, about $88 currently. Ouch. Do people actually pay that much for a mouse?

Hello Kitty Popcorn Machine

I’ve never heard of anybody actually having a popcorn machine in their house, but you could, right? If you wanted to, you could pick this one up at Target for $130. It’s not as easy as the microwave kind, because you have to actually measure out the kernels, oil, and salt, but that’s how you make the tasty popcorn anyway.

Hello Kitty Dentist

A new dentist has opened up in Tokyo called Heart Dental Clinic, and it’s entirely pink and Hello Kitty-fied! I’m moving to Tokyo in a month, not to Koto-ku where this is located, but perhaps I will try to get over there and check it out for myself. See more pictures at this Kotaku article.

It’s About Women

(lian amaris)

This is important.

There’s a big flap going on about the Komen Foundation right now, and how they are cutting off funding for groups “under investigation” which is code for Planned Parenthood. Of course, PP is only under investigation because it’s been targeted by right-wing groups, but Komen doesn’t want to do the dirty work of figuring that out, they just believe whatever they’re being told by conservatives. And although they’re trying to fix the bad publicity, they’re still a little shady about whether they’re actually going to be funding PP without political agendas getting in the way.

Women’s health is important. Planned Parenthood supports women’s health. Millions of women nationwide would be unable to receive ob/gyn services without them. They are a major provider of breast cancer screenings in the United States. America needs Planned Parenthood.

We don’t need the Susan G. Komen foundation, though. And although they make a lot of awesome pink stuff, there’s plenty more that doesn’t come from them. Check out this awesome design for an example, or this bumper sticker. Those don’t support PP directly, though. If you’d like to do that, stop by their website.

Women’s health is more important than pink stuff.

Pink Glitter Toms

These are the awesome shoes I dream of when I see little girl running around in pink sequined shoes. It’s hard to find the perfect little-girl shoe in big-girl sizes, but this is pretty close! And Toms seem to be really popular, so I assume they are also super comfortable. I wish these weren’t $65…no way I can afford them. (The cheapest Toms shoes are $55, but they don’t seem to come in pink from what I can tell.) Anyway, for those of you who buy them, feel good knowing that making these your 20th pair of shoes will also get a child in need his or her very first pair.

Toms One for One Info

I’m sharing this infographic for two reasons. First, because Toms shoes has totally awesome pink glitter canvas shoes – which I’ll post separately in a moment. Having pink glitter in your product line makes you awesome. And second, because Toms does amazing things. As you read through this infographic, take note of what they’re doing around the world: they’re making life more livable.

Get It In Pink

I’m very excited to have been informed of Get It In Pink which is another all-pink blog! It features more than just products, too – there’s celebrities and all kinds of fun stuff. If you’re enjoying this blog, you’ll like that one too! And like me, the author doesn’t use affiliate links (unlike other pink blogs) so yay!

So it turns out that “Barbie pink” is a real color. Specifically, PMS 219, where PMS is Pantone Matching System. Yup, the people who Do Colors have set the official Barbie color. You can pre-order the doll now for $52.99. (via chipchick)

Counterproductive, hmph

Some see pink breast cancer awareness stuff as counterproductive gimmickery

Hmph. Needless to say, we at PinkBlog (okay, there’s just one of me) do not feel the same way.
