Dollie
I got bored so I made this dollie at the eLouai Dollmaker!
Back to bento we go! Here is an attractive pink bento box from J-Box. This is the “stacking box” style known as jubako, and the individual parts can be used separately, or if you have a big lunch you can bring the whole thing. It’s only six inches across, which seems kind of small – an American dollar bill is six inches long. I don’t know how well everything fits together but it’s really cute. And I’ve always thought bento boxes would bake great jewelry boxes, too…you could keep just about anything in there, really.
You can now search Google Images by color! As an example, here is a search for the word “cat” with the color pink applied. I’m kind of surprised there’s not more Pink Panther there. It does a really good job recognizing colors, too – there’s nothing on there that isn’t some shade of pink.
If yesterday’s Hello Kitty bento cups were a little too much for you – maybe you don’t like Hello Kitty? – you can still get pink bento cups with these heart shaped models. When you drop the Hello Kitty branding, they’re only $2.50! Otherwise they’re identical to the other cups – silicone, reusable, microwavable, etc. The J-Box site mentions that they help reduce trash, so I assume the usual bento cup is something disposable – paper maybe? If anybody knows, feel free to chime in.
From the wonderful folks at J-Box we have these adorable Hello Kitty bento cups. It seems bento, which is really popular in Japan, is also popular in the United States. If you have a bento box, you can put whatever you like in these; they’re primarily for side dishes. You could put some baby carrots in them, or perhaps some applesauce, though I don’t think they come with lids so that might not be very advisable. They’re listed as “silicon” which I assume is supposed to be “silicone” since silicon looks very different from these. They’re microwave safe, and under $5.
Came upon a cute site – Hello Kitty Pink. Seems to catalog mostly Hello Kitty stuff that is mostly pink. Good enough for me!
I came across this while trying to find cheap gymnastics equipment so I could pretend I was a gymnast like I was as a kid. It turns out there is no cheap gymnastics equipment. This little bitty beam, just 8 feet long (half the length of a usual one), is $256.99! It comes with a matching mat, and it IS pink, but apparently my dreams of being a gymnast are foiled by not enough money. Oh, and by being out of shape, inflexible, and overweight. But mostly the lack of money! If I had this little beam I could still skip around and pretend I was a gymnast, just do the dance stuff. But alas, this pink wonder/monstrosity (where would you put it?!) will have to remain out of reach for me. I would say it’s ideal for the beginning gymnast to practice at home, but who’s going to spend this kind of money on a sport that you don’t even know if she’ll like in three months?
Despite the absolute flop of Steve Martin’s latest Pink Panther flick, the character is still adorable. You can pick up an 18″ plush Pink Panther at Amazon for $16 – eighteen inches! That’s the size of an American Girl doll. He’s cute, isn’t he? He’s bendable and posable and everything. He’s got safety eyes so he can be given to children or pets, but I think he should be kept clean so he stays pink and isn’t slobbery and gray.
Just wanted to share this picture I took at the mall today. I know it’s a Victoria’s Secret brand, but I thought it was kind of cool to have a store that said “pink is life” on the outside and “love pink” on the inside etc. There’s too much stuff in there that’s not pink if you ask me. There should be stores that sell only pink things. I saw a place in Rehoboth, Delaware that was a pink store, but it had green stuff too. Which looked good, but there should be a PINK ONLY store. Except white. Pink and white. Maybe red. But mostly pink. And white.
